TASK

Preparation of a study on the subject of "inclusive business" in Jordan as an adviser to GIZ. Conducting field research.

DESCRIPTION

SOLUTION

Several months of on-site research on visits by various actors from politics, business and development cooperation and the implementation of qualitative interviews, as well as subsequent analysis.

IMPACT

Influencing GIZ's strategy with regard to its projects to integrate refugees into the local economic context.

In 2016, GIZ commissioned MTS to conduct an exploration study to investigate whether there was a so-called "inclusive business" sector within Jordan. Such a sector would form a sufficient number of people and organizations that combine social issues with entrepreneurship. If this is the case, the successful incubation of social entrepreneurship approaches in the refugee context would be possible.

The MTS team carried out research and interviews on site in all parts of the country for over two months. Exploration led to universities, incubators, companies, start-ups.
